Room 58 selected to assist Community and District Nurses in the UK

Following a rigorous selection process, Room 58 was finally chosen to assist the Community and District Nurses Association (the CDNA) with the redevelopment and relaunch of its web site.

The CDNA is specialist trade union representing community and district nurses, healthcare assistants and all other primary care practitioners working in primary healthcare. The CDNA has approximately 5,000 members. The day to day operation of the union is managed by Chief Executive, Anne Duffy, supported by a small team based in London, overseen by the unions National Executive Committee.

The CDNA have been grant aid by the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) through the UMF (Union Modernisation Fund) to develop their web site and deliver a ‘virtual’ union whereby members can participate and be supported through the use of internet technology. The CDNA seeks particularly to develop more personalised relationships with its members.

Room, 58’s recommended solution addresses these issues in a number of ways including the use of forums, blogs, polls and more. The web site will not only allow the CDNA team to make regular in-house updates but it also enables regular communication with its members via e-mail.

The site is currently under construction and will be officially launched on 30th January 2007.
